Pressure for a referendum on the EU Treaty hit the road this week when a huge inflatable ballot box came to Exeter. The campaign group I Want A Referendum.com has taken its large inflated ballot box across the UK and Europe in a bid to raise interest in its campaign.

It is a cross-party campaign for a vote on the EU's Constitutional Treaty, bringing together people who believe the Government should "keep its promise to hold a referendum on the revived Constitutional Treaty".

Members of the group include some high-profile names who are not convinced that Britain's red lines have been met in terms of safeguarding our own legislation on key areas such as justice.
IWR supporter Kate Hoey said: "The Prime Minister has not convinced the European Scrutiny Committee that the red lines are met.

"He has failed to convince many Labour MPs, including me, that our opt-outs will actually protect us from the increasing powers of the European Commission," she said.
